This probably isn’t the day that many of us would want to celebrate as it certainly isn’t as fun as eating something yummy but it is a good reminder for the things many of us take for granted. Many of us live hectic and busy lifestyles so the cleaning of the refrigerator is often something that is overlooked.
Whirlpool Appliances created this day back in 1999 to encourage people to clean out their refrigerators in advance of the upcoming holiday season. They were so into cleaning out your fridge at the time that they even offered a toll free hotline to call into for cleaning tips. Did you know it is recommended to clean your fridge every 1-2 weeks or before you go grocery shopping. This helps keep you from overs shopping and keeps things from being wasted.
